Hai,
When i start writing this blog i cant really stop laughing.The reason is i started a blogger account some one year back and started blogging only now.I always had passion for quiet a number of things but never thought i these turtles would drive me to write a blog on net.Lets trace back some five or six years backwards.....spiral fo five seconds.....lol.I was studying 8TH standard(when i was 13 years) in school that was the first time i went to turtle walk with sstcn thro my dad's friend.
ok fine i know i don make any sense talking about turtles and turtle walk abruptly.Here it is...

Basically turtle walks are conducted to conserve olive ridley turtles.These olive ridley turtles comes and lay eggs on the coast of chennai.There will be group of volunteers who walk on the particular stretch in the night.They normally look out for nesting turtles and nests,collect those eggs and relocate them in the hatchery.The reason is during the night, under normal conditions, the sea is a brighter source of light than the land. But now with urbanization and nighttime lighting, the shore is brighter than the sea at night. This distracted the Olive Ridley turtles that came ashore to lay eggs. Even the hatchlings get distracted. Instead of going in the direction of the sea, the hatchlings and adults strayed towards human habitations.

Now to my part.During Jan 2009 i went to the turtle walk.I was casually talkin with Arun anna the co-ordinator,sstcn.He was saying that many volunteers walk durin the week days may be one or two in the night looking out for turtles and nests.That struck me.wooooooooow.Wat a oppurtuanity to roam around in night that too in beach with the permission from police department.lol.I said to myself i shouldn't let loose this oppurtuanity and told Arun anna that i am ready to walk on wednesdays since i have holidays on every thursdays for project work in college.
Here begins my story.....
Experiences i never thought i would come across in my life right from chain snatching chase to a dive into the sea ,what a life it was for me.which i cant never forget in my life time....
